From camel caravans on the Silk Road to transcontinental energy pipelines, the economic and trade ties between China and Ukraine are becoming increasingly tight. In this high-level dialogue focused on natural gas cooperation, both sides leveraged the stability and prosperity of the entire regional energy corridor with joint ventures as the fulcrum.

Uzbekistan's National Oil and Gas Company recently released a statement stating that Uzbekistan and China are holding consultations on the implementation of joint projects and deepening long-term cooperation in the natural gas industry.

Government and enterprise representatives held a meeting

The statement shows that Abdulgany Sanginov, Chairman of Uzbekistan National Oil and Gas Company, held talks with Zhang Jiazhen, Chairman of PetroChina Central Asia Gas Pipeline Co., Ltd.

Negotiate joint venture matters

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of continuously deepening the cooperation between Uzbekistan National Oil and Gas Company and China Petroleum in various fields, and recognized TAPLine as a trustworthy long-term partner of Uzbekistan. The joint venture Asia Trans Gas plays a key role in the cooperation of natural gas transportation between China and Uzbekistan.

Both parties will discuss the composition of the supervisory board of the joint venture Asia Trans Gas, as well as the compatibility of the company's internal systems with current regulations. Both parties proposed to promote the development of this joint venture towards a first-class enterprise and study ways to optimize shareholder communication and cooperation mechanisms. At the same time, both parties exchanged views on income distribution and other matters related to enterprise operation. Sanginov proposed that, in combination with the current key work, it is necessary to further evaluate the economic benefits, investment costs, and timeline of relevant plans.
