On the vast grasslands and deserts of Central Asia, wind and light are being given a new mission. The energy landscape of Kazakhstan is quietly changing, with clean electricity flowing like small streams into rivers. The green wave led by wind power is reshaping the energy pulse of this continent.

Total power generation increases

In the first three quarters of 2026, Kazakhstan achieved steady growth in renewable energy generation, reaching a cumulative total of 7.8 billion kilowatt hours, with a year-on-year increase of up to 20%. From the perspective of power generation structure, wind power is the core power generation force, with a power generation capacity of 4.9 billion kilowatt hours; The solar power generation capacity is 1.9 billion kilowatt hours, and the power generation capacity of small hydropower stations is 993 million kilowatt hours, with various clean energy sources working together.

Increased proportion of power generation

According to data from the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, the proportion of renewable energy generation in China will continue to increase in 2026, with the proportion of the country's total power generation increasing from 7% in previous years to 8.5%. In the first half of the year, the proportion has reached 8.08%, and the effectiveness of replacing clean energy continues to be evident. Keywords: Kazakhstan, wind power, new energy

At present, the total installed capacity of renewable energy projects in Kazakhstan has exceeded 3.7 gigawatts. In the segmented fields, the installed capacity of wind power is 2 GW, the installed capacity of solar power is 1.3 GW, and the installed capacity of small hydropower is 313 MW. The clean energy installation system continues to improve. The Ministry of Energy stated that the scale of renewable energy generation in the country continues to expand and the proportion of energy steadily increases, effectively promoting the high-quality development of the domestic clean energy industry and continuously optimizing the national energy structure.Editor/Gong Ziwei
