On October 9, 2026, at the invitation of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Ma Nai, Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh hung arrived in Phnom Penh to begin a two-day official visit to Cambodia.

According to a notice released by the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, during the visit, Leung Ming hung will meet with Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Monile at the royal palace, and respectively pay respects to Senate Chairman Hun Sen and Parliament Chairman Kunsordali. In addition, Li Mingxing will hold bilateral talks with Hong Mane to jointly explore ways to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries and exchange in-depth views on regional and international issues of common concern. The announcement pointed out that this visit will further consolidate the traditional friendship and solidarity ties between Cambodia and Vietnam, and demonstrate the joint commitment of the two countries to continuously expand and deepen bilateral comprehensive cooperation.

As neighboring countries with long-standing friendship and close ties, Cambodia and Vietnam have always attached great importance to strengthening and deepening cooperation in various fields. In 2022, the bilateral trade volume between Cambodia and Vietnam reached 10.58 billion US dollars, breaking through the 10 billion US dollar mark for the first time. By 2025, the bilateral trade volume between the two countries will exceed 11.3 billion US dollars.
