On October 9, 2026, Consul General Zhang Sheping was invited to attend the Lancang Mekong Youth and Economic Diplomacy Seminar hosted by the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Songben, Director General of the Economic Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos, and representatives of young and middle-aged people from various provinces attended the meeting.

In his speech, Zhang Sheping introduced the Global Governance Initiative, stating that the initiative adheres to the five principles of sovereign equality, international rule of law, multilateralism, people-oriented, and action oriented, providing important guidance for strengthening regional governance cooperation among Lancang Mekong countries, improving cooperation mechanisms, and jointly addressing global challenges.
