On August 2, the Wuwei Railway International Container Yard Project officially started construction in Huangyang Industrial Park, Liangzhou District, Wuwei City.

The Wuwei Railway International Container Yard Project is located in Zone B of the Wuwei International Dry Port Central Area, with a total investment of 629 million yuan and an area of 1031 mu. It is an important part of the Gansu (Wuwei) International Land Port's shore platform. After the project is completed, the initial economic transportation volume can reach 1.05 million tons, and the long-term economic transportation volume can reach 1.98 million tons.

According to the person in charge of the project, at present, the Wuwei International Dry Port can only be transported to Wuwei South Station, and then short-berthed to the dry port by truck, which increases transportation costs and lowers efficiency. After the completion of the Wuwei Railway International Container Yard Project, the goods will be directly transported to the dry port, which greatly saves transportation costs and improves transportation efficiency.

In the future, after the completion of the project, it will open up a new international dry port trade channel, give full play to the important strategic channel and comprehensive hub advantages of Gansu Province connecting east and west, connecting Europe and Asia, and will further promote the container industry, cold chain, and trade logistics in surrounding areas. The development of industry contributes to the prosperity of the economy along the “Belt and Road”. Editor/He Yuting
