From July 2 to 4, 2024, President Xi Jinping attended the 24th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization held in Astana and was invited to pay a state visit to Kazakhstan. On July 2, the 7th meeting of the China-Kazakhstan Entrepreneurs Committee was held in Astana.
Chairman Yu Jianfeng, a leading figure of CNNC, participated in the 7th grand meeting of the China-Kazakhstan Entrepreneurs Committee, which brought together the elites of the business community of China and Kazakhstan. On the Kazakh side, the meeting was led by First Deputy Prime Minister Sklyar, and also attended by important figures such as Zakupov, CEO of the Samruk-Kazyna State Sovereign Fund, and Batalov, Chairman of the Atameken State Entrepreneurs Association. On the Chinese side, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Samruk-Kazyna State Sovereign Fund jointly hosted the meeting.
Since its establishment in 2013 under the joint witness of the two heads of state, the China-Kazakhstan Entrepreneurs Committee, an important platform, has become the first formally established bilateral business cooperation mechanism between China and Central Asia, playing an immeasurable role in promoting economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between the two countries. The convening of this meeting not only reflects the common desire of both sides to deepen economic and trade cooperation, but also lays a solid foundation for future cooperation between the two countries in more areas.
During the meeting, Chairman Jianfeng had in-depth exchanges with partners such as Deputy Minister Suengat, a key figure in the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, CEO Zakupov, the leader of the Samruk-Kazyna State Sovereign Fund, and CEO Yusupov, the helmsman of the Kazakhstan State Atomic Energy Industry Corporation. They held fruitful dialogues around core issues such as uranium resource supply and nuclear power facility construction, aiming to further promote substantive cooperation between China and Kazakhstan in the field of nuclear energy.
Chairman Yu Jianfeng emphasized that Kazakhstan, as a strategic partner of CNNC in natural uranium trade, uranium resource development, and nuclear power projects, has worked together for more than 20 years of glorious journey and witnessed the implementation of many cooperative achievements. He said that CNNC is full of confidence in its cooperation with Kazakhstan and is willing to continue to deepen the communication and cooperation mechanism between the two sides, actively participate in Kazakhstan's nuclear power construction projects, strengthen pragmatic cooperation in the field of uranium resources, and explore more cooperation opportunities in the entire nuclear industry chain.Editor/Zhang Liyuan
