Gobi Photovoltaic Strives for Construction Schedule
At present, the construction of a million kilowatt photovoltaic project covering an area of 30000 acres in the mountainous Gobi Desert of Wusu City, Xinjiang is accelerating. The project is based on the dual carbon strategy, taking into account multiple values such as power generation, ecology, and enriching the people. The project is invested by Shouchu Energy and contracted by Shaanxi Construction Fifth Construction Joint Venture. Located in the light energy rich area at the northern foot of the Tianshan Mountains, with a planned installed capacity of 1000MW, a supporting 220kV substation and transmission lines, and good conditions for green power transmission.

Innovative construction that balances multiple benefits
The person in charge of Shaanxi Construction introduced that the project has an annual power generation of 1.55 billion kWh, filling the local green power gap, providing 2000 temporary jobs for construction, absorbing employment opportunities for farmers and herdsmen through operation and maintenance, synchronously restoring the ecology, developing photovoltaic tourism, and achieving multiple benefits. The project will use all idle wasteland without occupying farmland or forest land, and all approval procedures for environmental impact assessment and land use will be completed. The permafrost and saline soil in the site area are complex, and the project is equipped with anti-corrosion and foundation reinforcement plans. The site adopts partitioned flow construction, digital allocation of materials and equipment, establishes emergency mechanisms for sandstorms and floods, and strictly controls construction safety and quality. The project aims to create a three-dimensional ecological model of on-board power generation and off board green planting, driving the upstream and downstream photovoltaic industry chain, giving birth to new cultural and tourism formats, and promoting local low-carbon transformation.
