Spanish energy engineering giant T é cnicas Reunidas has made another crucial move in the Middle East market. This engineering company with 66 years of industry experience has officially accepted a letter of intent for a project with a total amount of approximately 1.65 billion US dollars. It will construct a complete set of onshore natural gas facilities for a large gas field development project in the Middle East, which is also one of the recent heavyweight EPC orders in the Middle East oil and gas infrastructure field.

Fixed total price turnkey mode locks project boundaries

The project will be executed using the full process EPC model and belongs to a fixed price turnkey contract. After the final formal signing, T é cnicas Reunidas will be fully responsible for the design, procurement, construction, and full process commissioning of the relevant facilities. The core of the project covers the entire chain of onshore natural gas reception, purification treatment, and export facilities. All engineering processes will strictly follow internationally recognized standards for safe operation, energy efficiency improvement, and environmental sustainability.

As a major single investment in the Middle East natural gas infrastructure field, the project will directly promote the release of new natural gas production capacity in the region, fill the key onshore gaps in the entire gas field development chain, and provide core hardware support for upgrading the local natural gas export capacity.

Further consolidation of regional market competitiveness

Since its establishment 66 years ago, T é cnicas Reunidas' business footprint has covered more than 70 countries worldwide, delivering over 2600 large-scale industrial projects. Its core business focuses on the development of large-scale facilities in the fields of natural gas, clean fuels, and chemical engineering. At the same time, it has also accumulated mature technological solutions in the fields of energy transformation, circular economy, and industrial decarbonization.

The implementation of this large-scale letter of intent will further strengthen the traditional advantages of the enterprise in the Middle East oil and gas EPC market, especially in the market position of large-scale natural gas processing and energy infrastructure segments, which will be significantly enhanced. In the current global natural gas trade pattern of continuous adjustment, the development and export facility construction of gas fields in the Middle East region is entering a new round of expansion cycle. The landing of such large EPC orders also confirms that traditional energy engineering giants can still obtain high-quality projects in the core market with their profound project experience in the low-carbon transformation wave. Starting from the Iberian Peninsula, this veteran enterprise that has been deeply involved in energy engineering for more than half a century has obtained another important ticket to consolidate the market fundamentals during the critical cycle of natural gas development in the Middle East. Behind the $1.65 billion order, it is not only a direct reflection of the company's past project reputation, but also paves the way for it to expand more energy transformation related projects in the Middle East region in the future.Editor/Cheng Liting
