Recently, with the smooth docking of Chuanjiang 001 vessel at Guang'an Port, the first batch of 80 standard containers loaded with imported spodumene have all arrived, marking the completion of the first single cargo of the river rail sea intermodal transportation channel from Australia to Qinzhou Port to Luohuang Port to Guang'an Port. For a long time, the lithium battery industry in Northeast Sichuan has commonly encountered pain points such as high logistics costs when importing spodumene raw materials. This new logistics channel seamlessly connects sea, railway, and inland waterway transportation, reducing the comprehensive logistics cost of goods by about 30%, and opening up an economically efficient strategic channel for the development of the new energy industry in Northeast Sichuan.

River rail sea intermodal connection

The first batch of 80 TEUs of imported spodumene were shipped by sea from Australia to Qinzhou Port, and took the southbound train of the Western Land Sea New Corridor directly to Chongqing Luohuang Port. They seamlessly transferred to inland ships and sailed upstream along the Jialing River to Guang'an Port, achieving the successful landing of the railway box to water intermodal transportation mode in the Jialing River basin. This channel innovatively constructs an integrated multimodal transportation system of sea freight, railway, and inland river water transportation, efficiently connecting the Western Land Sea New Channel with the Yangtze River Golden Waterway. In the past, imported lithium pyroxene was transshipped through other ports and transported by road to Guang'an, with multiple logistics links, high costs, and poor timeliness. After the new channel was opened, the comprehensive logistics cost of goods was reduced by about 30%.

Fill in the gaps in logistics

Guang'an Port, relying on the resources of the Provincial Port Investment Group platform, fully leverages the location advantages of the core inland waterway hub in the Jialing River Basin, and opens up a new strategic channel for cross-border bulk cargo transportation in Northeast Sichuan. The new route further improves the three-dimensional logistics channel radiating from the western land sea new channel to the hinterland of Northeast Sichuan, comprehensively fills the gap in cross-border bulk cargo transportation in Northeast Sichuan, and broadens the stable transportation channels for imported raw materials of regional industrial and mining enterprises and new energy enterprises.
