At the northern foot of the Tianshan Mountains, the China Europe freight trains honk their horns and head west, pushing Urumqi from the inland hinterland to the forefront of opening up. Relying on the national logistics hub, this city is accelerating the agglomeration of industries and channel advantages, connecting the land port hub of Asia and Europe to the west, and is moving from a channel economy to a new stage of hub economy.

Foreign trade enterprises are experiencing growth rates
As a leading force in Xinjiang's high-level opening-up, Urumqi has relied on three types of national logistics hubs to deepen reform and innovation and continue to unleash the momentum of opening up to the west at the beginning of the 15th Five Year Plan period. Urumqi Land Port International Trade is a core foreign trade enterprise of Xinjiang International Land Port Group, mainly engaged in the import of edible oil and export of tomato sauce. In the first half of the year, foreign trade imports and exports amounted to 130 million yuan, an increase of six times compared to the entire year last year. Enterprises benefit from the convenient services provided by the land port area, and the platform connects with overseas merchants and promotes policies that benefit enterprises, effectively reducing the burden on foreign trade. In the second half of the year, the enterprise will deepen its cultivation of edible oil, copper concentrate powder, wheat flour and other categories, striving for a total foreign trade volume of 400 million yuan for the year. We have established an overseas cooperation warehouse in Almaty, Kazakhstan to further expand our overseas market.

Empowering cross-border logistics with train services
Urumqi is located at a key transportation hub between Asia and Europe, and is a core node of the China Europe freight corridor. 21 train routes have been opened, connecting 26 cities in 19 countries and building a cross-border logistics corridor between Asia and Europe. Xinjiang Luxin Fengchi Logistics, which has settled in the land port area, is deeply engaged in cross-border transportation of Central Asian chemicals and vegetable oils. Over the past decade, the scale has significantly expanded, with over a thousand tank containers and nearly 20000 shipping containers. By 2026, we aim to achieve a full year revenue of 1 billion yuan, benefiting from the industrial foundation of Xinjiang and the support of the Tianshan train for our company's development. Plan a new layout for the hub
During the 15th Five Year Plan period, the key industries to be developed in the inland port area are modern logistics, international trade, and processing and manufacturing, in order to strengthen the hub economy. The local government will optimize the operation of the China Europe freight train assembly center, expand characteristic trains, promote the operation of the Asia Europe commercial center, build a Sino Russian cross trade industry platform, and gather various types of foreign trade comprehensive services.Editor/Gong Ziwei
